{This is a Training Post}
What will you focus on this week? I’m sure you have a lot going on, and sometimes knowing what to focus on can feel overwhelming. I want to help you.
I often get asked, “how do you do so much?” Frankly, I don’t see myself that way, but if I were to answer that question, I would say that it all comes down to simplifying.
I am an extremely sensitive person. Spiritual evolution is my full-time job (lol). Very little in my life goes unnoticed to my soul, and everything is up for integration, evolution, upgrade, etc.
I mention this so that you understand that I spend a lot of energy on my inner world. I am one of those people that could sit and stare into the sky for hours, so the fact that I get a lot done could be seen as a miracle! haha…
So, how do I get stuff done, and how to teach my students to simplify and get what they want done?
Here it is…
1. My intention is to not waste my energy.
Energy Waste: listening too much to haters, negative people, health issue fixation, over fixating on finances, comparing self to others, wishing for a smaller dress size, regretting the past, worrying about the future, doing activities that I detest, and I’m sure you get that the list goes on.
But rather to conserve my energy…
Conserve Energy: sleep, tracking energy/ monthly cycle, understanding planetary influences, being in nature, spending time with loved ones, being surrounded by beauty, having coffee/ tea with a good or new friend, watching kids play… and perhaps this sparks your imagination to list more activities that conserve your energy.
But what about that edge of growth people talk about? What about the outside your comfort zone thing?
I love stepping outside my comfort zone, AND to me that is an investment in conserving my energy. Staying in one place of stagnation is an energy waste, seeking growth is exercising positive energy; It is spending my conserved resources for the things that align with what 1. I desire and 2. is my purpose.
Does that make sense?
2. Being smart with my day
Accomplishing great things has to be sustainable, and overworking myself or my team is not sustainable.
Track my energy. My friend Suzanne Mathis McQueen is the best at this. Don’t waste your time elsewhere, she is the best. http://4s4w.com/ . Her resources will teach you how to know when to push yourself and when to be gentle. Yes, not all days are created equal, my lovely. Know yourself from the inside.
I use 2hr chunks. I learned this from my first coach, David Koons (love this man!) I schedule projects in 2hr blocks, and if I am on fire and want to keep going, I do not sensor myself.
Compliment my talent + genius with people who can take care of the details that weigh me down. I may go on a bit of a rant here, so hang with me… I am not suggesting that we let go of all systems and have others run our business or lives for us. Don’t get me wrong, that sounds nice to me too!
You deserve to systematically move to having a business that runs itself with the help of others, and first step is KNOW ALL YOUR SYSTEMS. I cannot stress this enough. I have run a business for now ten years, and I assure you, it is important to know every single piece of software you own, every process instituted, and then outsource (and if you want to kick it up a notch, write an SOP – Standard Operating Procedure for all steps). Having a well oil run machine is key, but if it is your domain, do not loose touch!
3. During times of inner transformation
Adapt. It is impossible to predict the ups, downs, and sideways of life. Whether it is yourself or a loved one going through great transformation, we have to adapt to curve balls, especially if you can see them miles away. Have patience with yourself, life, and remember, as much as the ego wants to push timing of life and business, it really is not a race. Maybe this will make you laugh…. you have a few million lives to go, so there’s no hurry. Eventually, you will achieve it all, and by then, you won’t really care as much about all the worldly stuff you are fixated on! 🙂
Kindness. Please let yourself be kind to you, to those around you who don’t always get you, and practice forgiveness to the parts of yourself that waste time and energy.
Body care. Do not underestimate the power of taking care of your precious vehicle. Drink water (ahem, reminder to myself), eat health nurturing meals, and have tea (this just warms the soul!)
