“Wherever you go, there you are” -Kabat-Zinn
{This is a Feel Good Post}
I will admit that I am not one of those people who can sit still for long.
I have an edge about me, and this edge is wrapped up in the pursuit of accomplishing, growing, being of service to humanity, and yes, I do have a light side to me, the part that loves to laugh.
I was eight when I first went to India. Living in the developing country of Venezuela, who now resembles nothing of developing, I saw poverty. But, nothing could prepare me for India.
Seeing people without limbs, dirt, and the unending parade of beggars was more than one sheltered upper middle class princess could handle. My sister, who was five at the time, cried the whole time we were there.
I internalized the entire experience.
The contrast of our five star hotel in Dehli to the mountain of suffering I had seen, changed me that winter of 1979.
Poverty and Wealth circled in my innocent mind, trying to make sense of it, and yet the feeling that I had to do something about it lured me into not escaping the harsh contrast I had seen in the world at such a young age.
To this day, my travel philosophy is See Expansive Nature & Human Suffering. That keeps me connected to beauty, to what is possible, and is my constant reminder that there is more work to be done.
Whatever I read, whatever I experience, I make it an inner spiritual pilgrimage. I allow myself to be transformed by everything that touches me. Maybe this is too deep for some, but to me, it is what allows me to feel life in the most intimate way.
It’s the way I roll.
How do you roll?
What allows you to feel alive?
How is it that you make sense of this crazy world we live in?
What is that part of your personality that allows laughter & happiness to rule?
The way I experience life, directly affects the way I approach my vocation, my Dharma (as the Buddhist say referring to life purpose). The way I am on the inside informs how I move about in my world, in my work, and in my business.
