{Feel Good} are hormones hurting or helping your leadership?

Do you ever feel as though your hormones get in the way of being the most effective leader ?

Or maybe you find yourself being more harsh during certain times of the month?

If you are like most women leaders you are probably tough on yourself and you probably have some shame around all this or even feel like you should just hide during certain days in your cycle. You don’t want to hurt anyone but you sort of know your feelings are real and honest, and people around you just take you the wrong way. Is this you? Someone you know? I invite you to keep reading; I think this will help. And you may want to share with your powerhouse girlfriends.

First of all you are not alone. Did I already say that. Well, it merits me repeating.

I have coached and consulted for women leaders who are creative, powerful, and who confess to me that they do  not know what to do with their emotions at times. They value their sensitivity, but sometimes they fight their emotions, and no matter what, the frustration comes out in their words. They are at times misperceived even though they have a big heart. I am talking women who run $1M-20M companies.

No shame, my dear.

Ok, so now that we have forgiven ourselves for our less controlled monthly moments, can we get some solutions in place? I get it. It’s not enough to accept ourselves, but then keep repeating the patterns that are clearly NOT working for all those who rely on us to lead or manage them. And most of us do not want to come across as a hot mess to the people who look to us as a role model. So, what is a Business Priestess to do?

Here are my must-implement-like-today tips. Warning: the tips alone are awesome, but if you find yourself next month struggling, reach out to me. I am taking on a new big project, but have room for ONE coaching client. 😉

Business Priestess Leadership Tip Time…

1. I want you to print out a calendar for one month: go here to download one: https://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/. I suggest you put it by your bedside table and at the end of the day (for the entire month) you gage your emotional wellbeing for that day. Keep it simple + rate it as: a. rock star day b. neutral c. struggled  d. hot mess day

2. Do this for one month (even better if you do 3 months) and notice the patterns. Notice how it aligns with your cycle. Knowing your baseline is key to helping you and your team thrive.

3. Once you know your (c) struggled and your (d) hot mess days guard them as if they were new born babies. Meaning that once you know that around day 20 of your cycle you start struggling those are the days to reduce activities (travel less, schedule less, book a massage).

If some months it feels as though you have little control of going into your woman cave, no worries, having the information can be the prompt to expect less of yourself. Yes, you read that correctly. Expect less. Order in, get set up for a nice epsom or sea salt bath, or journal your frustration away.

4. Educate those closest to you on the days when you need more support, love and understanding. You are not meant to struggle alone, you are meant to be SUPPORTED. So, tell your spouse, boyfriend/ girlfriend, kids, roommates. The code word we have in our home is “I am tender today”. And when someone is not realizing it for themselves we say “oh, you are feeling tender today”. It’s compassionate, honoring, and to the point.

5. Advocate for what you REALLY need. You do not have to force yourself to be something you are not. You do not have to tell people why you need your woman cave. No permission is needed from anyone. Own your Queendom and do this for you. Because when we put on our oxygen mask on ourselves first, we are better equipped to help others, and we are just way more productive and effective.

Note: when you are in those tender days, I want you to remember that you are a fricken ORACLE. There is truth in what you feel, sense, and think. Yes, there is. Don’t let any conditioning say that you are crazy, hormonal, or whatever other demeaning thing we hear as women. You are truth incarnate. The trick is what to do with this truth that pours through your veins once (or twice) a month. This is where you may need help managing and implementing the right tools to help you be a powerful leader and taking care of yourself.

Believe me I have experience for myself and all the women I have supported through the years.

The biggest mistake I have seen powerful leaders make is minimize their struggle and plough through month after month. This usually blows up in their face at some point, and causes teams to lose trust in their leader, and eventually break apart something that would otherwise be a harmonious tribe. I don’t’ want that for you. I want you to feel good about where you are, know yourself in and out, have the right tools in place to support you & your profitable ventures, and be the leader you know you are!

We got this! If you want to hear more about the most effective tools, schedule time with me.

Love you,

Asha

p.s. if this was helpful, share with a girlfriend who could use these tips! I will surely appreciat you spreading the word. Not just for my benefit, ,but for the benefit of all misunderstood women leaders.

The Feminine Principles to Soulful Business

{This is a Be Wealthy Post}

When I first started focusing on being clear of what I desired, both personally & in business,

Law of Attraction worked for me!

But then, as I evolved and realized that chasing things was not really my thing, and that I wanted more out of life, the practice of writing my desires, focusing on it,  yada yada felt BORING, EMPTY, and not quite evolved enough for how I wanted to grow.

Then in 2008 I was given a set of Feminine Principles (WOMANesting TM) and I started using this gentle approach to a soulful life & business.

WOMANesting is not the same as

They were a game changer.

And because of them, I stopped being judgmental towards others and even quieting my Inner Critic, and honestly getting more done in my business. See, I no longer reserved space in my mind to be hard on myself, to operate from a sense of stress.

But rather I embraced who I was, my creative and productivity cycles, and my bottom line soared.

Yes, because of these Principles.

Here is the first one, and probably the one that has changed most lives (well, there’s another one, but that one I will share next week!)

You are a Seasonal Being; Accept it.

It can be so easy for us to be on the constant move towards more more & some more both personally &

in business, but when we can soften to the Truth that we are cyclical beings, a level of harshness

immediately drops off.

Maybe you are in a stage in your life where you cannot devote yourself fully to something you care

deeply about and this Principle is a reminder that what you are going through is just RIGHT NOW, and that

it can evolve and change.

I know for me, I am deep into my business right now, and creating an upcoming course, and honestly my weekends are not as recreational as they had been months before. I am shooting videos, writing copy, and even though I could feel guilty that I am not spending time with my girls, I know it is just RIGHT NOW,and that in a couple of weeks, we will have a family vacation where we can bond, play, and enjoy our little family.

Of course my girls are  young, and I do not necessarily want to make my business 99% of what I do, I want to be there for them, but I am in a season of intense work, and knowing that, communicating it to myfamily, and making plans to bring more balance once this season is over is fundamental to my relationships.

Same goes for Business.

A business has seasons, and has points of evolution, and in fact knowing this is KEY to sustainable success. I see so many Business owners become stuck when they hit a season of evolution.  I know I have been at that place.

Not getting support during that season was a huge mistake, and I counsel every single person I meet to always invest in the right kind of support, mentorship or business coaching. Because if we live these seasons of growth alone, our progress can be stalled, and  yes, sales of our  business can slow down as well, unless we have the right plan in place.

Here’s a start to making sure you do not make the common mistakes by most. Be honest with yourself about where you are, what you need, and what you will do to be proactive… these questions will get you started…

What season is your Business in today? If you were to be 100% honest with yourself,

what is the #1 thing you need to get through this without affecting your bottom line?

Have an amazing day!

7 Tips to Manage Summer, Kids and Business

{This is a Be Wealthy Post}

There’s no denying, running a business in summer is complicated. Whether you have kids, a dog, or just have an active social life, getting things done and moving towards growth in our businesses gets compromised, but it does not have to.

After having a very intense summer last year with my kids needing more of my attention than usual, I decided to structure my business completely different, and I realized that we don’t have to necessarily struggle through the balance of work and summer, but rather we can be PROACTIVE.

Here’s a couple of tips to get your through shifting a bit so that you can be both productive and enjoy this beautiful time of year.

1. Know that having fun, will feed you. Your vacation or rest time will not destroy everything you have been working so hard to build. In fact, it may just feed it in ways you cannot imagine.

2. Be clear on priorities. Maybe summer is not the time to work on  those projects you know are important for the progress of your business. But, if you know they are essential, then make TIME to schedule them in. Even one to two hours per week of working on something, feeds the energy and momentum of such project.

3. Be realistic. If you have kids and they hate camp (me me me!) then know that those weeks where the kids are unscheduled, you will be surviving, and nothing else. But be ready to jump right into beyond surviving if they organically get invites to go spend a day with a friend. That’s what happens in summer, spontaneity arises. Both for your business and your fun self, be ready!

4. Schedule weekly time where you are feeding your brain, and the progress of your business. Suggestion: one of my new friends, Jen Lehner, is teaching a social media bootcamp, and I wanted to share the details with you. http://campwithjen.com/  (registration ends TODAY at noon)

I interviewed Jen here: if you are a mom & are building your own business, the interview will inspire you. AND IT IS ONLY 20 Min.

5. Schedule yourself some fun. For you. Just you. Have fun, enjoy nature, the beauty of gathering with friends, the late nights, the warm mornings, and if you have kiddos, enjoy them as much as possible.

6. GET SUPPORT. Summer may be the time when you mos need help. Take advantage that extra college students are around, and get yourself some HELP; for your business or for your home!

7. Write down all the ideas you get but that do not have the bandwith to accomplish. Don’t get frustrated about this, get excited that perhaps this is a creative time for you, where you are gathering GENIUS ideas.

Would love to know how these tips have helped  you re-frame this beautiful time of year & your business.

Love,

Asha

Own this day, oh powerful you!

{This is a Be Wealthy Post}

It’s Monday and things can easily get out of our hands very quickly. I have talked to so many people who feel at the mercy of something or

someone else when it comes to getting shit done. We either blame our laundry, kids, a client, a website, or our support team, but really this is another

form of giving our power to someone or something else. And guess what? It is so not empowering. In fact, it depletes us of our youthful spirit, our

happiness, our vitality, our creativity, and creates SUFFERING, and I know you and I DO NOT want that.

So, what can we do when we are in this cycle of thinking that the technology gods are against us? Or that the overwhelm of a filthy home paralyses us?

Or worse, when it feels like we are letting someone be a vampire to our thoughts?

1. First, pin point the target of blame; whether person or thing, it feels like something outside of us…. if you are feeling yuck towards someone or

something, it’s time to address it because most likely, it is depleting you from feeling good and therefore taking energy away from your

luscious business.

2. Recognize that this is YOUR DAY, your life, and that you have power to experience it and set it up however you darn well please. With love, of

course, but if you have been giving your energy to something or someone, the only way to TAKE IT BACK, is to OWN that you are powerful beyond

what you recognize.

3. Be very clear on what you do want. If you want the website or the person to cooperate, devote your FOCUS on SOLUTIONS. This will save your

sanity, and in the long run make you more mula.

4. Now, back to #1… this “problem” that you have is but a beautiful reminder that something is off, and if you logically approach it, with the intent to

solve it, you may discover that there is an INNER BELIEF that is holding you back from the solution. Now, I’m not saying the technology or person

who is being problematic has no responsibility, but remember at the end of the day, we cannot control others or things, we can only own our

involvement in this life and business we create.

* * *

OWNING OUR LIFE & BUSINESS IS THE GREATEST GIFT WE CAN OFFER THE PLANET.

I have experienced small businesses and large corporations who do not follow taking full ownership, and let me tell you, everyone looses when

that happens. People react with knee jerk ego based responses, passive aggresive behavior and nobody, nobody wins. Not the individual, not the

customers, and certainly not the whole.

I know, you are not like them. You are different. Your eyes are open. You want more for yourself and this planet. And I love you for that.

Without you this world will not be a better place. You are contributing in a way that nobody else can. Again, I love you for that. And remember it is OK if

you are going through a toughie in your life or business. It’s normal, in fact, if you had no challenges, you may not be on the path of great growth.

You are on the path of greatness, so feel what you feel, and remember to bring your focus to solutions, to trust yourself and the Universe

enough to know that you are capable of attracting great technology and people that serve your mission.

Love,

Asha
